Mackey, but more importantly we lost a beloved friend. I met Tom in when he was looking to adopt a smaller dog. Tom was always a compassionate and caring person committed to the humane treatment of animals.
As a humanist, Tom believed in sharing his wealth to benefit mankind and make a difference while he was alive. Tom never wanted to see an animal suffer, and his incredible generosity benefitted and improved the lives of countless homeless pets.
Tom shared my mission to serve pets and their people, and my dream of a community shelter that would carry on long after we were gone. Our Board meetings with Tom became something to look forward to. No boring business meetings at a table.
