Computer shuts down when idle vista
I would check the BIOS for power saving features. Sounds like the BIOS is detecting the machine's idle, and shutting down. I suspect they will walk you through it, or remote in and figure out what's causing it.
I doubt you'll need an RMA, but requesting one will get them interested in your case. Can you let one of these sit in a BIOS screen overnight to see if it shuts down?
It would at least let you know something in Windows is going whacky. Applying updates to system bios, and windows,usually will take care of it. My plan B was to contact Dell but wanted to try and figure it out myself first.

Snozzberries I will also try that on another machine though by default, we set the power options to disable all those except turn off monitor.
